Acknowledging that contact with loved ones is vital for the health and wellbeing of aged care residents, this small and brightly coloured playspace – thoughtfully designed by Oculus – caters for young children when visiting relatives at the newly renovated Southern Cross Care Residential Aged Care facility.
The playful equipment from our partner Lappset includes the Anton, which consists of steps to a low (570 mm high) platform and a slide. By the side of the platform there is a small tabletop for playing on. The tabletop is strong enough for an adult to sit on, to assist a toddler on the slide. The littlest ones will be interested in the bright colours, contrasts and fun details, which contribute safely to their motor development.
The Pico is a funny spring bouncer for one person, with a seat height of 420 mm. Riding on a springer is good for children’s rhythmic awareness in particular.
And finally the enticing Balancing Bridge provides a fun way to assist with balance and coordination.
