Nestled on the shores of Lake Pertobe in Warrnambool, Victoria, the newly redeveloped Lake Pertobe Regional Playspace stands as an 8-hectare all-season adventure playground, enchanting children of all ages. This recreational wonderland, a product of our collaboration between the Warrnambool City Council, and ACLA, represents a triumphant transformation of a beloved community asset.
The centerpiece of the playspace is the custom-designed, 10-meter Grass Art Tower, a creation by our partner Spiel-Bau. This towering giant boasts a thrilling 9-meter slide and diverse climbing challenges, beckoning young adventurers to explore. Built with resilience in mind, the tower and slide utilise C5 powder-coated and 316 Marine Grade Stainless steel, ensuring they withstand our Australian environment, including the nearby ocean spray.
The Grass Art Tower embraces inclusivity, offering a dedicated path and a 1.5-meter junior slide to welcome even the youngest explorers. As children climb the tower, they encounter progressive challenges – multiple levels and net challenges that gradually increase in difficulty to cater to various skill levels. Spacious platforms at each slide entry point allow multiple children to enjoy the thrills simultaneously. Net elements woven into intermediary platforms add a layer of dynamic play, fostering balance and coordination in a way that’s both engaging and safe.
The Lake Pertobe Regional Playspace redevelopment not only signifies a commitment to providing a valuable recreational space but also showcases a dedication to durability and sustainability.
