Based in Geelong, Kids Plus Foundation was founded in 2003 by parents of children with a disability, therapists and concerned community members in response to the gap in access to quality and regular goal focused therapy for children with cerebral palsy, stroke or brain injury.
We were approached by GbLA with a specific brief for a new playspace for the centre. There was an exacting requirement for DDA compliant staircases for the custom Lappset Flora tower as well as oversized double platforms, to cater for carers as they accompany children during play.
The space also includes an array of musical instruments from Percussion Play to provide additional sensory engagement. Further traditional play elements such as a trampoline, balance beams, stand table and monkey bars are included – all carefully selected to assist with balance, coordination and muscle development.
