The children of Hurstville Grove Infants School have an exciting new playground to enjoy for years to come, thanks to an award-winning collaboration with landscape architects Outhouse design and the construction team at Outdoor Retreats Landscaping.
The Fairy’s Circus from our partner Lappset’s Nature Play range was chosen for this project. The Fairy Circus is a beautiful and inclusive nature play product which offers a variety of climbing challenges, as well as a hammock type lounging area. The design caters to all abilities, with two nets featuring tighter mesh for easier climbing and resting. The eight triangular nets provide different climbing levels, ranging from 350mm to 1550mm, while some posts even have “grown” branches for added climbing excitement.
Since its installation in 2023, this innovative new playground design has won two LDI National Landscape Design awards: Landscape Designer of the Year and the National Gold Award – Public Space Design – Master Planning. The project also won the construction team at Outdoor Retreats Landscaping The Landscape Association Excellence Awards: 2023 – Gold Award and Best in Category – Commercial and Civil Construction $250,000 to $750,000.
The school’s investment in the Fairy’s Circus not only adds a touch of whimsy but also provides a stimulating and inclusive environment for all children.
