Colac Memorial Square’s new multi-aged, bespoke playspace was created in collaboration with Tract Consultants Geelong and Colac Otway Shire Council to enliven Colac’s civic and business heart, and inspire young people to engage in imaginative play; whilst simultaneously activating and working in harmony with the shire’s most significant war memorial.
The playspace is easily recognised by the central bright and colourful Poppy themed multi activity tower (referencing the square’s significance as a war memorial) and includes a flying fox, swing frame, and junior embankment slide from our partner Spiel-bau.
Several musical instruments from Percussion Play create unique and incredible music experiences and some active engagement from our partner Lappset, including the always popular Twister game, rounds off this award winning playspace.
The legacy playspace which Rotary and the local community built has been relocated and is now well utilised in the Philippines.
