At the heart of Buttenshaw Park’s new adventure play space is a unique cubic structure, designed by our partner Lappset. This custom jungle gym caters specifically to tweens and teens, offering a variety of climbing challenges and rest areas within a safe and contained environment.
The innovative cubic design takes full advantage of Buttenshaw Park’s sloped terrain, the potential for an exciting and challenging play experience. The structure itself functions as a climbing haven and hangout spot, as well as a dedicated climbing wall for budding boulderers.
By incorporating youth-led community engagement throughout the design process, Blue Mountains City Council and Place Design Group ensured this new playspace met the needs and desires of young people in the area.
